Prior to 1985, the drafting pens HP offered on its drafting plotters (758X and 7550) were refillable only. Refillable drafting pens were messy and prone to clogging. Their tips did not last forever. HP introduced disposable drafting pens in 1985 in a variety of colors and nib widths

5061-7565 4 pens, red,
5061-7563 4 pens, blue,
5061-7564 4 pens, green,
5061-7562 4 pens, black.

In 1990, the refillable pens were branded Sureplot.
