Description:
The 7905A contains a fixed 5MB hard disc and a removable 10MB hard disc. I has an average seek time of 25ms and a data transfer rate of 938KB per second.
The 7905A also came in bundled configurations (racking, interface card, cables, etc) for 2000/1000 computers and for 3000 computers. The part numbers were 12962A and 30129A respectively.
By July of 1976, HP had shipped 1500 7905A disc drives. The 2000th 7905 was shipped before the product's first birthday in October of 1976.
The 7905 was also a movie star. It made an appearance in the 1992 movie Garbo.
